What an email finder does

An email finder turns a person's name and company into their work email address. Cleanlist AI checks 25+ data providers in sequence, stops at the first deliverable result and verifies it before you see it. You pay 1 credit per verified email and nothing for a miss.

How do I find someone's work email address?

Start from what you have, because each input has a faster route.

A name and a company. Use the company's real domain, not its brand name (the email of someone at Acme Robotics might be on acmerobotics.io). Then run the name and domain through an email finder that verifies what it returns.

A LinkedIn profile. Paste the URL into the LinkedIn email finder, which is free for 2 lookups per IP every 30 days.

An email with no name. The reverse email lookup tells you who is behind it.

No tool at all. Check the company's team, press and contact pages, then guess the address from the company's pattern with the email format finder. Guessing is how lists collect bounces, so check any guess with the email verifier before you send.

Why do email finders miss addresses?

Every data source covers a different slice of the workforce. One provider is strong on US tech companies, another on European mid-market firms, another on people who changed jobs last month. A finder that asks one source inherits that source's gaps, so a miss there is final.

A waterfall asks the next source when the first comes back empty or undeliverable. Cleanlist AI runs 25+ providers that way, and several well-known email finders are sources inside that cascade rather than rivals to it. The second reason for misses is age: people change jobs, and an address that was right last year now bounces.

Verifying at the moment of lookup catches that before it costs you.

What does an email finder cost?

Most finders charge per lookup or per address found. Cleanlist AI charges 1 credit per verified email and nothing when it finds no deliverable address, so you pay only for results you can send to.

The Free plan includes 50 credits a month. Starter is $49 per seat a month with 750 credits per seat, and Pro is $89 per seat with 1,500 credits per seat. Neither has a seat minimum, and annual billing takes 25% off. Every new workspace starts with 14 days of Pro (up to 3 seats, 250 credits).

How does this tool work?

Most work emails are never published. They sit in B2B contact data, which is why every email finder works the same way at heart: match a name and a company against data sources, then check that the mailbox is real.

The difference between finders is how many sources they ask and whether they check the result. A single-source finder returns whatever its one dataset holds, so a miss is final and an old address comes back looking current. Cleanlist AI runs waterfall enrichment instead. It asks 25+ providers in sequence, stops at the first deliverable result and verifies the address before it reaches you.

On our own 500-lead benchmark that returned a verified work email for 98% of leads.

You pay 1 credit per verified email, and a lookup that finds nothing costs nothing. The Free plan includes 50 credits a month, and every new workspace starts with 14 days of Pro (up to 3 seats, 250 credits).

Start from what you already have. A LinkedIn profile URL goes into the LinkedIn email finder, an email you need a name for goes into the reverse email lookup, and an address you already hold goes into the email verifier before you send to it.

What happens when you look up a name

Four checks run behind one search.

The domain. The company is pinned to the domain that receives its mail, which is often different from the brand name.

The match. Providers are asked in sequence for an address that belongs to that person at that company. The cascade stops at the first deliverable result.

The mailbox. The address is checked against the company's mail server with an SMTP handshake, which confirms the mailbox exists without sending anything.

Catch-all domains. Some companies accept mail for any address, so a mailbox check alone can't confirm the person. Those results are flagged so you can decide whether to send.

Email finder, contact finder or reverse lookup: which tool fits

Pick the tool by the input you hold.

Name and company: the email finder on this page.

Company and a role, with no name yet: the contact finder and People Search, which search 1B+ profiles by title, seniority, company and location.

LinkedIn URL: the LinkedIn email finder.

Email address: the reverse email lookup to see who it belongs to, or the email verifier to check it before sending.

Phone number for the same person: Cleanlist AI finds those through the same waterfall at 10 credits per number found. See find phone numbers.

How to find emails for a whole list

Finding addresses one at a time works for a handful of names. For a prospect list, upload a CSV with a name and a company on each row, or build the list in People Search, and Cleanlist AI finds and verifies an email for every row it can.

You see which rows came back verified, which sit on catch-all domains and which found nothing, and a row that finds nothing costs nothing. On Pro the results write back to HubSpot or Salesforce, so the CRM holds the verified address instead of a guess.

Who uses the Email Finder?

The people who run it most, and what each one runs it for.

  • Sales teamsCatch a dead address before a rep spends time writing to it.
  • MarketersClean a list before the campaign goes out, so bounces don't hit the sending domain.
  • RecruitersConfirm a candidate's contact details are real before you reach out.
  • FoundersCheck an address before you email an investor, partner or buyer.
  • RevOpsKeep CRM records accurate so routing, scoring and reports hold up.
  • AgenciesCheck client data before it goes into a live campaign.

How does an email finder work?

It matches a name and a company against B2B contact data and returns the address it finds. Cleanlist AI asks 25+ providers in sequence and stops at the first deliverable result, then verifies the mailbox via an SMTP handshake before you see it.

How accurate is Cleanlist AI's email finder?

On our own 500-lead benchmark, Cleanlist AI returned a verified work email for 98% of leads. That test named no other vendor. Results vary by list: senior titles at large companies are easier to find than new hires at ten-person startups.

What does it cost to find an email?

1 credit per verified email, and nothing when the lookup finds no deliverable address. The Free plan includes 50 credits a month. Starter is $49 per seat a month, and every new workspace starts with 14 days of Pro (up to 3 seats, 250 credits).

Why does this tool need an account?

Finding an address from a name runs the full provider waterfall and a mailbox check, and both run inside the product. The free tools that need no account start from a different input: a LinkedIn URL or an email address.

Can I find emails for a whole list?

Yes. Upload a CSV of names and companies to Cleanlist AI, or build the list in People Search, and it finds and verifies an email for every row it can. On Pro, the results sync to HubSpot or Salesforce.

What is the difference between an email finder and an email verifier?

A finder starts from a name and returns an address. A verifier starts from an address and tells you whether the mailbox is real. Cleanlist AI does both in one step, because every address it finds is verified before you get it.

Now run it on the whole list.

Upload the CSV or describe the list you want. Clu finds, verifies and qualifies every row.
