The short version

Yes, Attio has an official MCP server, and it is one of the most complete CRM servers available. It runs at mcp.attio.com/mcp, signs in with OAuth (no API key), and gives Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other MCP clients 48 tools across records, lists, notes, tasks, meetings, emails, reporting and read-only SQL. Reads are approved automatically and every write asks you to confirm. It acts with your own Attio permissions. We make Cleanlist AI, which runs a contact-data MCP server, so read this as a vendor's review.

Facts checked October 15, 2026. Every Attio fact below comes from Attio's MCP documentation, read on October 15, 2026. We did not connect an Attio workspace for this review.

Is there an official Attio MCP server?

Yes. Attio documents an official, hosted MCP server at https://mcp.attio.com/mcp. It names Claude Desktop, Claude.ai, ChatGPT and Cursor as clients and says any MCP client that supports remote servers can connect. You sign in with your Attio account over OAuth; no API key is needed.

What can the Attio MCP server do?

Attio's server has 48 tools in 11 groups:

GroupToolsWhat they do
Records and objects9Search, list, get, create, upsert, update and merge people, companies, deals and custom objects
Lists8List, create and update lists and entries, add records
Activities6List, create, update and upsert activity records
Notes5Create, search, read and extend notes
Comments4List, create and delete comments and replies (only your own)
Tasks4List, create, update and delete tasks
Meetings and calls4Search meetings and call recordings, read transcripts
Emails3Search emails and read their content
Workspace3Workspace details
Reporting1run-basic-report for aggregate reports
SQL1query-particle-sql, read-only SQL

Merging two records of the same object keeps the primary record's value wherever both have one. Meetings, calls and emails are read-only through MCP.

How do you connect Attio to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor?

  • Claude Desktop or Claude.ai: Settings > Connectors > Browse connectors, search for Attio, install it and sign in.
  • ChatGPT: open Apps, search for Attio and connect.
  • Cursor and other clients: add https://mcp.attio.com/mcp as a remote MCP server and complete the OAuth sign-in when prompted.

The server acts as you: it follows your Attio permissions and stays inside your workspace. You can revoke sessions from your Attio account settings.

Is the Attio MCP server free?

Attio's MCP docs do not list a separate price or a plan requirement for the server. The one plan note is that query-particle-sql is not available on every billing plan. Treat it as part of your Attio subscription and check SQL access on your plan.

What are Attio's MCP rate limits?

Attio publishes per-workspace limits by tool tier. Tools in the same tier share one limit:

TierLimitTools
Read100 requests a second19
Write25 requests a second18
Merge5 requests a second1
Search300 requests a minute5
Semantic search2 requests a second3
Reporting2 requests a second1
SQL2 requests a second1

The read and write limits match Attio's REST API. If an agent hits one, Attio's advice is to reduce parallel operations, space out requests or retry after a short wait.

Is the Attio MCP server safe to give an AI agent?

Attio's design is careful: read tools run without asking, while every write tool asks you to confirm before it creates or changes data. The agent can never see more than you can, because it signs in as you. The risk to plan for is volume: with merge and bulk upsert available, review the first runs of any agent that writes, and keep merge for records you have checked.

Who is the Attio MCP server good for?

It suits teams that run their GTM on Attio and want an assistant that can do real CRM work: clean up records, merge duplicates, build lists, log notes and tasks, and answer questions with a report or SQL. It is especially strong for founders and RevOps people who already think in Attio's objects and lists.

Where does Cleanlist AI's MCP server fit next to Attio?

Cleanlist AI publishes this page, so treat this section as a disclosed vendor entry. Attio's server works on the records in your CRM. Cleanlist AI's MCP server finds and completes the ones that are missing: people and company search across 1B+ profiles, and verified work emails and phone numbers from a waterfall of 25+ data providers. Search is free, a verified email costs 1 credit and a phone number 10, nothing is charged on a miss, and Claude shows a cost quote before any paid enrichment.

Connected in the same Claude chat, the two make a complete loop: ask Cleanlist AI for the heads of RevOps at your target accounts with verified emails, then ask Attio to upsert them as people and add them to a list. Cleanlist AI's MCP server is included from Starter at $49 per seat a month and in the 14-day Pro trial; setup is on the MCP product page. For other CRMs, see our HubSpot MCP server review and the list of MCP servers for sales and GTM.
