The short version
Instantly is a cold email platform with a lead database attached, and it bills the two on separate meters. Sending is one subscription, with unlimited email accounts and warmup on every plan. Lead data is another: the Growth credit plan, the first one on Instantly's pricing page, was $47 a month for 1,500 credits when we read it on September 1, 2026, and a verified work email costs about 1.5 credits by Instantly's own average. It fits teams sending cold email at volume across many inboxes. It fits less well as a contact data source, because its credit table has no phone lookup. We make Cleanlist, a data enrichment tool, so read this as a vendor's review. Our own plans are on the pricing page.
This is a pricing, fit and user-evidence review. We did not run a campaign or a list through Instantly for it, so there is no "our test" section, no deliverability score and no accuracy figure. Every Instantly fact below comes from Instantly's own pricing page and help center or from dated user reviews, and each one is linked where it is used.

What Instantly does
Instantly's help center splits the product into separate subscriptions, each with its own tab on the billing page: Email Outreach, Instantly Credits, CRM, Inbox Placement, and done-for-you domains and pre-warmed accounts (Instantly Help Center, updated July 17, 2026).
Email Outreach is the core. You connect sending accounts from any provider, warm them up, and run campaigns. Instantly's pricing FAQ answers "Can I really connect and warm up unlimited accounts with one subscription?" with "Yes!" (Instantly). Plans are sized by emails sent a month and by uploaded contacts, and the help center adds one detail buyers miss: "The uploaded contact limit is a fixed limit across all campaigns, not per month."
Instantly Credits pays for everything data-shaped: SuperSearch, the lead database, which Instantly describes as "450M+ B2B Leads" with 13 filters, plus enrichment, verification, the AI reply and sales agents, and website visitor identification. Instantly says its work email lookup runs a waterfall across "5+ providers."
CRM is a third subscription, for managing emails, calls, SMS, tasks and lead stages inside Instantly.
The subscriptions depend on each other. The help center says a workspace with the credits plan and no outreach plan is "limited to uploading 250 leads to campaigns." In practice a team that finds leads in Instantly and sends from Instantly pays for both.
What Instantly really costs
There are two bills.
The sending bill is the Outreach plan, priced by monthly email volume and uploaded contacts. Instantly prints the tiers on its pricing page, and our Instantly pricing guide walks through each one with its sending limits.
The data bill is the credit plan. Growth Credits, the first credit plan on the pricing page, was $47 a month for 1,500 credits when we read the page for our B2B data pricing index on September 1, 2026. What a credit buys comes from Instantly's credit table (Instantly Help Center, updated July 17, 2026):
| Action | Credits | What $47 and 1,500 credits buys |
|---|---|---|
| Verified work email, found by Instantly | 1 | 1,500 emails, or $31.33 per 1,000 |
| Verified work email, from a data partner | 2 | 750 emails, or $62.67 per 1,000 |
| Verified work email, Instantly's stated average | about 1.5 | about 1,000 emails, or about $47 per 1,000 |
| Fully enriched profile | 0.5 | 3,000 profiles |
| Verifying a lead you already have | 0.25 | 6,000 checks, or $7.83 per 1,000 |
| Website visitor, resolved to a profile | 3 | 500 profiles |
| AI Reply Agent, per reply generated | 5 | 300 replies |
| AI Sales Agent, per lead generated | 5 | 300 leads |
The per-1,000 figures are our arithmetic from the $47 and the credit counts, assuming every credit goes to one action. The help center also lists smaller and larger credit plans, so the per-credit price moves with the plan. Three rules change the real number:
- Misses are free on email lookups. "No credits will be consumed when a verified work email is not found for a lead."
- The agents charge per output. The AI Reply Agent spends 5 credits "per reply generated, regardless of whether the reply is sent or edited," and the AI Sales Agent spends 5 "per generated lead, regardless of whether the lead is approved or not."
- Credits expire. On monthly plans, unused credits expire two months after purchase. On annual plans, one year.
So the real cost of Instantly is the sending plan, plus the credit plan sized to your lead volume, plus the CRM if you use it. A team that brings its own list pays only the first.
What users say about Instantly
Instantly has 1,166 reviews on Trustpilot, 67% of them five stars and 25% one star (Trustpilot, read September 22, 2026). Trustpilot shows no score. Its banner reads "This company's rating is unavailable due to a breach of our guidelines," and the page adds "We've removed a number of fake reviews for this company." That notice is Trustpilot's, and it is worth reading before you weigh the five-star share.
Long-time users are loyal:
"it's probably the best cold email software. I've been using it for 5 yrs!" (5 stars, June 2, 2026)
"we do see the potential of us achieving success, so we are continuing" (4 stars, June 18, 2026)
The complaints cluster on price, reliability and what sits behind each paywall:
"Literally every other tool is blocked behind a paywall that isn't shown UNTIL you've purchased" (2 stars, September 9, 2026)
"heavily overpriced for how buggy and unreliable it is" (1 star, September 19, 2026)
A share of the one-star reviews come from people who say they received spam or phishing sent through the platform; those reviews describe Instantly's senders.
Where Instantly is strong
- Unlimited sending accounts and warmup on every plan. For agencies and teams that spread volume across many mailboxes, this is the reason to pick it.
- Sending, warmup and replies in one place. Campaigns, warmup and the shared inbox live in the same workspace.
- Email lookups charge on success. A lookup that finds no verified work email costs nothing.
- One wallet for data and AI. The same credits pay for lookups, verification, enrichment and the agents, so a team can shift spend between them month to month.
Where Instantly falls short
- Several bills. Sending, credits and the CRM are priced separately, and one reviewer's complaint about paywalls reflects that structure.
- No phone lookup. Instantly's credit table prices work emails, profile and company enrichment, verification and the agents. It lists no phone or direct-dial lookup, so teams that call as well as email need a second source.
- Credits that lapse. Monthly credits expire after two months, so buying a large allowance ahead of a slow quarter wastes money.
- Agents that bill per attempt. Reply and lead agents spend credits on every output, whether or not you use it.
- A review record Trustpilot has flagged. The withheld rating and the removed fake reviews make the public score hard to read.
Is Instantly worth it?
For a team whose main job is sending cold email at volume, across many domains and mailboxes, yes: unlimited accounts and warmup on every plan is the reason Instantly is popular, and the sending plan is where most of its value sits. For a team whose main gap is contact data, the case is weaker. The database is priced per verified email, about 1.5 credits each by Instantly's own average, and its credit table lists no phone or direct-dial lookup.
Is Instantly legit?
Yes. Instantly is an established product, its pricing page says "50,000+ sales teams" have switched to it, and its pricing and credit rules are published in detail. Two things are worth knowing before you buy. Trustpilot withholds Instantly's rating for a breach of its guidelines and says it removed fake reviews. And some of the platform's worst reviews come from recipients of email sent through it, which is a reminder to protect your own sending domains whatever tool you use.
Is Instantly free?
There is a trial, and no permanent free plan on the plans overview. The trial gives 250 uploaded contacts and 1,000 emails on the sending side and 100 trial credits on the data side (Instantly Help Center). The pricing page says no credit card is required to start.
How we reviewed Instantly
- What this review is. A pricing, fit and user-evidence review. We did not send a campaign or look up a list through Instantly, and nothing on this page is a measured result of ours about Instantly.
- What we read, and when. Instantly's pricing page on September 1, 2026 for our pricing index and again on September 22, 2026, its help center articles on plans and credits (both updated July 17, 2026), and its Trustpilot page on September 22, 2026.
- The one price on this page. $47 a month for 1,500 credits is the credit plan as our September 2026 pricing index recorded it. Sending-plan prices are on Instantly's page and in our pricing guide.
- What we could not read. G2, Capterra and Reddit blocked our reader or carried no usable Instantly listing when this was written, so the user section quotes Trustpilot only. Quotes are copied exactly, with the date and star rating and without names.
- Our own figure. Cleanlist's 98% verified work email and 85% direct dial is our own benchmark on our own 500-lead sample. It is not a test of Instantly.
Verdict: who should buy Instantly, and who should not
Buy it if cold email is your main channel, you run or plan to run many sending accounts, and you want warmup, sequences and replies under one subscription. Agencies sending for several clients get the most from the unlimited-accounts model.
Think twice if you mainly need data. Instantly's database is priced per verified email with no phone lookup, and without a sending plan the credits plan caps campaign uploads at 250 leads. Teams that call prospects will want a separate contact data source, and our Instantly alternatives page compares other senders.
Where Cleanlist fits next to Instantly
Cleanlist works upstream of the send. It runs a waterfall across 25+ data providers to find a verified work email and a direct dial for each contact, charges only when data comes back, and checks the list before it reaches your sending accounts. You export the enriched rows and load them into your Instantly campaigns, so your Instantly spend goes on sending, and the direct dials are there for the calls Instantly's credit table does not cover. The outbound use case shows the full workflow, and email verification covers the pre-send check.

Frequently asked questions
What is Instantly used for?
Instantly is used to send cold email at volume. Teams connect many sending accounts, warm them up, run sequences and handle replies in one inbox. It also sells lead data, enrichment and AI agents through a separate credit plan.
How much does a verified email cost in Instantly?
A verified work email costs 1 credit when Instantly finds it and 2 when a data partner does, about 1.5 on average by Instantly's own figure, and nothing when no verified email is found. On the $47 Growth credit plan with 1,500 credits, that is about $47 per 1,000 verified work emails at the average.
Does Instantly find phone numbers?
Instantly's credit table, updated July 17, 2026, lists work email lookups, profile and company enrichment, verification and AI agents. It lists no phone or direct-dial lookup.
Do Instantly credits roll over?
Only for a while. Credits on monthly plans expire two months after purchase, and credits on annual plans expire one year after purchase.
Why is Instantly's Trustpilot rating unavailable?
Trustpilot's banner says the rating "is unavailable due to a breach of our guidelines," and the page says Trustpilot removed a number of fake reviews for the company. The page still shows 1,166 reviews and their star breakdown.
Can I use Instantly's leads without a sending plan?
Only in a limited way. Instantly's help center says a workspace with the credits plan and no outreach plan can upload 250 leads to campaigns.
