Short answer
Sales intelligence tools combine contact and company data with buying signals so reps know who to call, how to reach them and when. The 2026 shortlist by job: ZoomInfo for enterprise data plus intent (no published price, Vendr median $33,500 a year). Apollo.io for data plus sequencing on a budget ($49 per user a month, annual). 6sense for account intent and ABM (Vendr median $63,199 a year). LinkedIn Sales Navigator for relationship and job-change signals (US$119.99 a month). Gong for conversation intelligence (quote only). Cognism for GDPR-compliant European phone data.
Prices were re-read on October 1, 2026 where the vendor's own page prints them (LinkedIn, UpLead, Cognism, 6sense, Demandbase, Gong). Apollo.io and Clay carry our last ledger read (September 1 and 7, 2026). Where a vendor publishes nothing, the figure is Vendr's buyer data and says so. Cleanlist AI publishes this page and is one of the ten tools on it.
What are sales intelligence tools?
Sales intelligence tools are software that tells a sales team which accounts to work, who to contact inside them, how to reach those people and when. They draw on four kinds of data: contact data (verified emails and direct dials), company data (firmographics, technographics, org charts), buying signals (intent topics, website visits, job changes, funding, hiring) and conversation data (what buyers said on recorded calls). ZoomInfo and Apollo.io are the best-known examples. 6sense and Demandbase focus on signals and account selection. Gong focuses on conversations. No tool here is the best at all four, which is why most revenue teams run two or three of them.
How do sales intelligence platforms compare?
Sales intelligence platforms compare most usefully by the job they do. Five jobs cover the market: contact and company data, intent and ABM, relationship signals, conversation intelligence, and build-your-own workflows. The table puts each of the ten tools in its main job with its price as printed.

The 10 sales intelligence tools, by job
Contact and company data with signals
1. ZoomInfo: best for enterprise data depth and intent
ZoomInfo is the broadest sales intelligence platform on this list: contact and company data, org charts, intent signals, website visitor identification and a Copilot assistant, with native Claude and OpenAI Codex MCP integrations announced in its Q2 2026 results. It publishes no price. Vendr reports a median of $33,500 a year across 1,571 recorded purchases, ranging from $7,200 to $156,000 (Vendr, February 2026). In our own 1,000-lead test in March 2026, ZoomInfo's email match rate was 84%. ZoomInfo is the right pick for an enterprise team with RevOps to run it and a signed budget. Our ZoomInfo pricing guide covers contract terms and renewals.
2. Apollo.io: best for data and sequencing on a budget
Apollo.io puts a contact database, email sequences, a dialer and CRM sync behind one seat. The free plan is usable. Basic is $49 per user a month on annual billing or $65 monthly, Professional $79 and Organization $119 with a 3-user minimum (apollo.io, September 1, 2026). An email costs 1 credit and a phone number 8. Its signals are lighter than ZoomInfo's, and its data comes from one database. In our March 2026 1,000-lead test its email match rate was 78%. For a team under 20 reps, Apollo.io is usually the first sales intelligence tool worth paying for.
3. Cognism: best for GDPR-compliant European data
Cognism sells EU and UK contact data with human-verified mobile numbers (Diamond Data) and screens numbers against do-not-call lists. Its pricing page lists Standard and Pro Sales Prospecting packages, each with 5 seats, defines "1 credit = 1 revealed contact", and prints no price (cognism.com, October 1, 2026). Cognism is the pick when European buyers and phone outreach drive your pipeline. The Cognism alternatives page covers options for US-first teams.
4. UpLead: best self-serve database with technographics
UpLead is a self-serve contact database that verifies emails at export. Essentials is $99 a month for 170 credits ($74 a month on annual billing). Plus is $199 a month for 400 credits and adds technographics and data enrichment. Professional is custom-priced and adds buyer intent data, full API access and competitor intelligence. The trial is 7 days with 5 credits (uplead.com, October 1, 2026). UpLead suits a small team that wants technographic filters without a five-figure contract. Credit counts are low for the price, so it fits careful, targeted exports.
Intent and account-based selling
5. 6sense: best for account intent and predictive prioritization
6sense scores accounts on intent and predictive fit, so reps work the accounts that are researching your category before anyone fills in a form. Its pricing page lists three editions (Sales Intelligence plus Data Credits plus Predictive AI, Sales Intelligence plus Data Credits, and Sales Intelligence plus Predictive AI) and no price (6sense.com, October 1, 2026). Vendr reports a median of $63,199 a year across 383 purchases, ranging from $11,753 to $177,404. Data credits do not carry over between periods. Most 6sense teams still run a separate contact data tool for emails and phones. Our 6sense pricing guide breaks down the editions.
6. Demandbase: best for ABM run jointly by sales and marketing
Demandbase combines account intent, account-based advertising and sales intelligence in one platform, which suits companies where marketing and sales work the same named-account list. Its pricing page describes "a clear platform fee that covers all the essential software and services" plus "a flat fee per user", and shows no figures (demandbase.com, October 1, 2026). Demandbase makes sense when ABM is a funded, cross-team program with ad budget behind it. For a sales-only team, 6sense or ZoomInfo intent is usually the simpler buy.
Relationship signals
7. LinkedIn Sales Navigator: best for relationship and job-change signals
LinkedIn Sales Navigator is the freshest source of who holds which role, because members update it themselves. Saved leads and accounts send alerts on job changes and account news, and TeamLink on Advanced shows which colleagues know a prospect. Core is US$119.99 a month or US$1,079.88 a year per license, and Advanced is US$159.99 a month or US$1,799.88 a year. Advanced Plus is custom (LinkedIn, October 1, 2026). Sales Navigator exports no verified email or direct dial on any tier, so teams pair it with an enrichment tool. Our Sales Navigator review covers the export workarounds.
Conversation intelligence
8. Gong: best for conversation and revenue intelligence
Gong records and analyzes sales calls, meetings and emails, then turns them into deal-risk warnings, forecast views and coaching. It is the tool a CRO buys when forecasts keep missing and nobody can explain why. Gong states that "Licenses are priced per user" and adds "a platform fee based on the number of users supported" and publishes no figure (gong.io, October 1, 2026). Gong sources no contact data, so it sits on top of whatever data tool fills your CRM. Salesloft and Outreach bundle call recording into their engagement platforms, and Vendr reports a $30,740 a year median for Salesloft.
Build your own
9. Clay: best for teams that assemble their own signals
Clay is a spreadsheet-style workflow builder that pulls from many data providers and AI research agents (Claygents) into one table. That lets a RevOps engineer combine hiring, funding, technographic and contact data into one account score. Launch is $185 a month billed monthly or $167 on annual, with actions and data credits metered separately, and the free plan carries 500 actions and 100 data credits (clay.com, September 7, 2026). Clay is the most flexible tool here and the one that asks most of its operator.
Verified contact data
10. Cleanlist AI: best when the intelligence you need is a verified email and direct dial
Our product
Cleanlist
Best for: B2B teams under 300 people who want verified emails and phone numbers from 25+ providers in one waterfall, paying only for results.
Cleanlist AI publishes this page. Accuracy figures are from our own benchmark, not a third-party test.
Cleanlist AI runs waterfall enrichment across 25+ data providers in sequence and stops at the first deliverable result, at 1 credit per verified work email and 10 per phone number. A missed email or phone number costs nothing. It returns 98% verified work emails and 85% phone numbers on the Cleanlist AI 500-Lead Enrichment Benchmark, which is our own test run on a 500-lead sample. Plans start at $49 per seat a month.
Clu, Cleanlist AI's GTM agent, turns one sentence into an agent that searches 1B+ profiles, enriches and verifies every person it finds, adds them to a sequence and posts each run to Slack, every week or on a CRM trigger.

- Fits when
- You need a work email and a phone number on the same row, verified, not two exports you reconcile by hand
- You want the finished list written straight into HubSpot, Salesforce or pushed to Salesloft, Lemlist rather than downloaded as a CSV you re-upload
- Pairs with
- Your existing sequencer, if you already run one. Cleanlist AI pushes to Salesloft and Lemlist, and its own Sequences run email and LinkedIn steps
- Your intent or signal vendor, if buying-stage scoring is part of your motion
Cleanlist AI is the narrowest tool on this list, and we say so plainly. It sells no intent data, no technographics and no org charts. It returns a verified work email and a phone number for each person by running 25+ providers in sequence, at 1 credit per email and 10 per phone number, and a miss costs nothing. People Search is free and unlimited, and AI qualification scores a row against your ICP for 5 credits. Teams use Cleanlist AI under an intent tool (6sense, Demandbase) or a relationship tool (Sales Navigator) to turn chosen accounts into people they can reach.
Lusha (supplier credit, unranked)
Disclosure first: Lusha is one of the providers inside the Cleanlist AI waterfall, so this entry is a supplier credit. It is unranked, and Cleanlist AI is not scored against Lusha anywhere on this page.
Lusha runs a contact database behind a Chrome extension built for fast, one-off lookups from a LinkedIn profile. Starter is $49.90 a month, or $37.45 a month billed annually (lusha.com/pricing, September 1, 2026).
How much do sales intelligence platforms cost?
Sales intelligence platforms cost from $0 to well over $100,000 a year in 2026, and the split follows the job. Self-serve contact data starts free and runs $49 to $199 a month (Apollo.io, UpLead, Cleanlist AI from $49). Sales Navigator is US$119.99 per license a month. Enterprise platforms publish no price: Vendr reports medians of $33,500 a year for ZoomInfo and $63,199 for 6sense, and Gong and Demandbase quote per user plus a platform fee. For a 10-rep team, a self-serve data tool plus Sales Navigator lands near $1,400 to $2,500 a month. An enterprise data contract plus an intent platform plus conversation intelligence often passes $100,000 a year before onboarding.
Which sales intelligence platform shows technographics, team structure and hiring?
For technographics, team structure and recent hiring in one place, ZoomInfo is the most complete single platform: org charts, technographics and intent on its higher tiers. 6sense adds intent and predictive account scoring for ABM. UpLead offers technographic filters on its $199 Plus plan, the cheapest published entry for that data. LinkedIn Sales Navigator is the best source for team structure and headcount changes, because the people update it themselves. Clay can combine hiring, technographic and funding data from several providers into one account score if you build the workflow. Cleanlist AI does not offer technographic data.
Is there a sales intelligence tool with a free trial?
Yes, several. Apollo.io has a free plan with search, emails and sequences on one seat. Clay's free plan includes 500 actions and 100 data credits a month. UpLead offers a 7-day trial with 5 credits. Cleanlist AI opens every new workspace on a 14-day Pro trial with 250 credits and 3 seats, then a Free plan at 50 credits a month (the trial includes the public API and MCP server). ZoomInfo, Cognism, 6sense, Demandbase and Gong sell through demos and quotes, so a trial there is something you negotiate.
Do I need a full sales intelligence platform if I only need emails and phone numbers?
No. If your reps already know which accounts to call and only need working contact details, you are buying contact data, and that costs far less than a platform contract. Verified-email and direct-dial tools charge per record: Cleanlist AI at 1 credit per email and 10 per phone number from $49 per seat a month, Apollo.io from $49 per user. Intent, org charts and call recording are what the extra five figures pay for. Our comparison of sales prospecting tools covers the contact-data-first options and the sequencers that send.
Which sales intelligence platform fits my team?
The right sales intelligence platform depends on team size and motion. Here is who wins each segment.
- Founder or team of 1 to 5 reps: Apollo.io's free or Basic plan. Add verified phone numbers from Cleanlist AI for the accounts you call.
- 5 to 20 reps running outbound: Sales Navigator for who to target, plus Apollo.io or Cleanlist AI for verified contacts. Skip intent until deal sizes justify it.
- RevOps team at 50 to 300 people: Clay if you have an engineer to build signals, or UpLead Plus for technographic filters out of the box.
- Enterprise ABM: 6sense or Demandbase for account selection, ZoomInfo for data depth, plus a verified-contact layer for the rows the database misses.
- Selling into Europe: Cognism.
- CRO fixing forecast accuracy: Gong. The forecast problem lives in deal data, and contact data will not fix it.
What are the top 10 sales tools?
The top 10 sales tools in 2026 cover five layers. CRM: Salesforce and HubSpot. Contact and company data: ZoomInfo and Apollo.io. Prospecting signals: LinkedIn Sales Navigator and 6sense. Engagement: Outreach and Salesloft. Conversation intelligence: Gong. Workflow and enrichment: Clay. Most teams already own the CRM and a sequencer, so the open decision is the data and signal layer. Buy one tool per layer you will use this quarter. A team paying for two tools in the same layer is paying twice.
How do I choose a sales intelligence platform?
Choose a sales intelligence platform by writing down the one job you need done this quarter, then asking each vendor five questions.
- What is your match rate on my list? Ask for a test on 100 to 500 of your real records.
- How is each email and phone verified, and when? Verified at export beats a quarterly refresh.
- What does one correct record cost at my volume? Make the vendor do the division.
- Which of your signals will my reps use weekly? Unused intent is the most common overspend.
- What happens at renewal? Get price escalators and cancellation windows in writing before you sign.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between sales intelligence and business intelligence?
Sales intelligence tools bring outside data about buyers into your sales process: contacts, companies, intent and conversations. Business intelligence tools such as Tableau, Power BI and Looker analyze data you already own, such as revenue, pipeline and product usage. A sales team uses both, for different questions.
Do I need separate tools for intent data and contact data?
Usually yes. 6sense and Demandbase tell you which accounts are in market but are not built to supply verified emails and phones at volume. Teams pair them with a contact data tool. ZoomInfo is the main platform that sells both under one contract.
Is LinkedIn Sales Navigator a sales intelligence tool?
Yes. LinkedIn Sales Navigator is a relationship and signal tool: role changes, account news and warm paths through colleagues. It exports no email or phone number, so it is usually paired with a contact data or enrichment tool.
What is the best sales intelligence tool for a small team?
Apollo.io is the usual first pick for a small team, because data and sequencing share one seat on a free or $49 a month plan. If verified direct dials matter more than sending, Cleanlist AI's Starter plan at $49 per seat a month, with 750 credits per seat, charges only for emails and phone numbers it finds. See Cleanlist AI pricing for credit costs.
