TL;DR
ContactOut's Email plan costs $49 a month and its Email + Phone plan $99 a month, or $39 and $79 a month on annual billing ($468 and $948 a year). Both give unlimited email reveals, and Email + Phone adds unlimited phones, but exports are capped at 300 a month on Email and 600 on Email + Phone. That cap sets the real price: about $163 to $165 per 1,000 exported contacts on monthly billing. Self-serve plans allow one user per company. The free plan gives 5 emails, 5 phones and 5 exports a day. We make Cleanlist, a data enrichment tool, so read this as a vendor's guide. Our own plans are on the Cleanlist pricing page.
Prices checked October 1, 2026. The ContactOut figures below were read on October 1, 2026 from the plan data that contactout.com/pricing serves with the page (the plan cards themselves are drawn in the browser), and they match our price ledger reading of September 22. Our September 2026 pricing index read the same $49 Email plan on September 1. Prices are the US ladder; the page shows a cheaper one for buyers outside the US, covered below.
ContactOut is a Chrome extension and search portal for finding people's emails and phone numbers, used by recruiters and by sellers. Its pricing looks simple, with two paid plans, and the part that decides what you actually pay is a line most buyers read past: the export cap.
How much does ContactOut cost in 2026?
ContactOut costs $49 a month for the Email plan and $99 a month for Email + Phone on monthly billing, or $39 and $79 a month billed annually. There is a free plan, and a Team / API plan priced by sales.
| Plan | Monthly billing | Annual billing | What you get | Exports | Users |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | 5 emails and 5 phones a day, extension and search portal | 5 a day | 1 per company |
| $49 a month | $468 a year ($39 a month) | Unlimited emails, email campaigns, list builder | 300 a month, or 3,600 a year | 1 per company | |
| Email + Phone | $99 a month | $948 a year ($79 a month) | Unlimited emails and phones, data enrichment, AI email writer | 600 a month, or 7,200 a year | 1 per company |
| Team / API | Contact sales | Contact sales | Bulk licence, Salesforce and ATS integrations, team management and reports, a dedicated account manager | Set by contract | Team |
Annual billing saves $120 a year on Email ($588 against $468) and $240 a year on Email + Phone ($1,188 against $948).
Is ContactOut's price a sale price?
ContactOut's page strikes through a higher original price beside each paid plan: $99 for Email and $199 for Email + Phone on monthly billing, and $79 and $159 a month on annual. Our pricing index recorded the $49 as a limited-time sale price on September 1, 2026, and the same discounted figures were still served on October 1. Budget on the price you are quoted at checkout, and ask whether it holds at renewal.
What does a ContactOut contact actually cost?
A ContactOut contact costs about 16 cents to export, because the plan meters exports and leaves reveals unlimited. Email lookups are unlimited on both paid plans, and phone lookups are unlimited on Email + Phone, so the export cap is the real unit.
| Plan and billing | Arithmetic | Per exported contact | Per 1,000 exported contacts |
|---|---|---|---|
| Email, monthly | $49 ÷ 300 | $0.163 | $163.33 |
| Email, annual | $468 ÷ 3,600 | $0.130 | $130.00 |
| Email + Phone, monthly | $99 ÷ 600 | $0.165 | $165.00 |
| Email + Phone, annual | $948 ÷ 7,200 | $0.132 | $131.67 |
The monthly Email figure is the one in our September pricing index. Two things follow from the table. First, Email + Phone costs almost exactly the same per export as Email, so if you want phone numbers at all, the $99 plan is the better buy per contact. Second, if you use every export, ContactOut sits at the expensive end of our index: its $163 per 1,000 compares with $39 for Snov.io Starter on monthly billing and $19.60 for Apollo Basic on annual billing. If you mostly look people up one at a time and export little, the unlimited reveals make the export price matter much less.
What are ContactOut's limits?
Three limits shape who ContactOut suits.
- The export cap. 300 exports a month on Email and 600 on Email + Phone. Every contact you export counts against it.
- One user per company. Every self-serve plan, including Free, carries a "1 user per company limit." A team cannot put everyone on the self-serve plans; teams go to the Team / API plan and a sales conversation.
- No team price on the pricing page. Team / API is "Contact us." ContactOut's menu also advertises "Unlimited sales users for $299" on a separate sales page, which says it is "for work emails only" and that "conditions apply," without stating the billing period or the limits. Ask for those terms in writing.
The free plan is 5 emails, 5 phones and 5 exports a day, which is enough to judge the extension on real profiles.
What does ContactOut cost outside the US?
ContactOut shows a second ladder for buyers outside the US: the Email plan at $25 a month and Email + Phone at $49 a month on monthly billing. The allowances and the one-user limit are the same. Check which ladder your checkout shows before you compare it with anything else.
How ContactOut pricing maps to real work
- A recruiter reaching 200 candidates a month. Well inside the Email plan's 300 exports. If you also call, Email + Phone at $99 covers it with room left over.
- A seller building a list of 1,000 prospects a month. Over both caps. On monthly plans that means the Team / API plan, or two months of exports on Email + Phone.
- Enriching an existing CRM list of 5,000 contacts. Email + Phone lists data enrichment as a feature, but the page does not say whether an enriched row counts against the 600 exports. If it does, 5,000 rows is more than eight months of exports. Ask before you plan a CRM clean-up around it.
How do you cancel ContactOut?
ContactOut's help article says to sign in, open your profile, choose "Manage Subscription," and click "Cancel Subscription" to "immediately cancel the subscription" (ContactOut). Questions go to support@contactout.com.
The article does not say whether access runs to the end of the period you paid for, and it states no refund policy. Before you pay for a year up front, ask support both questions in writing.
Is ContactOut worth it?
ContactOut is worth it for one person who looks people up one at a time, a recruiter or an individual seller, and who exports fewer than 300 or 600 contacts a month. For that user, unlimited reveals at $49 or $99 is a fair deal, and the free plan is a real way to test it.
It is worth less for a team, because self-serve plans stop at one user per company, and for anyone who builds lists in bulk, because every exported contact costs about 16 cents and the cap arrives quickly.
Verdict: who should buy ContactOut, and who should not
Buy it if you are a single user who prospects profile by profile, especially in recruiting, and you want emails and phones without counting credits. Take Email + Phone if you call at all; it costs the same per export.
Skip it if you need a shared account for a team, or if your job is enriching whole lists. The export cap and the one-user limit make both expensive or impossible on the self-serve plans. Our ContactOut alternatives page covers the tools that fit those jobs, and the ContactOut review covers the data and the extension.
ContactOut pricing compared with Cleanlist
Cleanlist meters verified results. Starter is $79 a month with 1,500 credits and 2 seats included (an extra seat is $20 a month), and annual billing takes 25% off. A verified work email is 1 credit, a direct dial is 10, and both on one row is 11. Each contact runs through a waterfall of 25+ providers and a lookup that finds nothing costs nothing. Searching is free.
| ContactOut Email + Phone | Cleanlist Starter | |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly price | $99 | $79 |
| What the plan meters | 600 exports a month | 1,500 credits a month |
| Email lookups | Unlimited reveals | 1 credit per verified work email |
| Phone numbers | Unlimited reveals | 10 credits per direct dial |
| Users | 1 per company | 2 included, $20 a month each after that |
| Charged when nothing is found | Not stated on the page | No |
| Per 1,000 verified emails, monthly | $163.33 per 1,000 exports on the Email plan | $52.67 |
| Per 1,000 contacts with a phone, monthly | $165.00 per 1,000 exports on Email + Phone | $526.67 per 1,000 direct dials (10 credits each) |
Read the last two rows together. On email, Cleanlist costs about a third of ContactOut per contact. On phones, ContactOut's flat plan is far cheaper per contact, as long as you work alone and stay under 600 exports a month. Cleanlist's case is the team and the list: several people on one account, each row run through a waterfall of 25+ providers that stops at the first verified result, and nothing charged when nothing is found. The honest test is to run the same 100 rows through both. Cleanlist's 14-day trial gives you 250 credits and 3 seats on Scale.

Not on the self-serve plans, which carry a one-user-per-company limit. Teams use the Team / API plan, which is priced by ContactOut's sales team. A separate sales page advertises unlimited sales users for $299, for work emails only, with conditions it does not list.
Does ContactOut have an API?
The API is part of the Team / API plan, which has no published price.

It depends on the field. For verified emails, Cleanlist is cheaper per contact: $52.67 per 1,000 on Starter billed monthly, against about $163 per 1,000 exports on ContactOut's Email plan. For phone numbers, ContactOut is cheaper per contact for a single user under its 600-export cap: $165 per 1,000 exports with phones, against $526.67 per 1,000 direct dials on Cleanlist Starter. For a team, ContactOut's self-serve plans do not apply, because they allow one user per company.
