The short version
Clearbit is no longer sold as a separate product. HubSpot bought it in December 2023, and its enrichment now ships inside paid HubSpot plans as built-in data enrichment, which HubSpot's documentation says consumes no HubSpot Credits. It fills 14 contact properties and 27 company properties, and none of the contact properties is an email address or a phone number. Pick it if you run HubSpot and want firmographics on inbound leads. Look elsewhere if your gap is verified emails and direct dials, or if you do not run HubSpot. We make Cleanlist, a data enrichment tool, so read this as a vendor's review. Our own plans are on the pricing page.
This is a pricing, fit and user-evidence review. We did not run a list through HubSpot's enrichment for it, so there is no "our test" section and no accuracy score. Every fact below comes from HubSpot's and Clearbit's own pages or from dated user reviews, and each one is linked where it is used.
| Clearbit in 2026 | |
|---|---|
| What it is | HubSpot's built-in data enrichment, the product Clearbit became after the acquisition |
| Who sells it | HubSpot. The clearbit.com homepage now opens with "Clearbit has joined HubSpot!" |
| What you need | A paid HubSpot subscription: Starter, Professional or Enterprise on Marketing, Sales, Service, Data or Content Hub, or Professional and up on Smart CRM or Revenue Hub |
| What it costs | No separate price. HubSpot says enrichment is included in paid plans and uses no credits. Buyer intent does use credits |
| What it fills | Job title, role, seniority, LinkedIn URL and location on contacts. 27 fields on companies, among them revenue range, headcount, industry, total money raised and web technologies |
| What it leaves empty | A contact's email address and phone number |
| Free option | None. The free Clearbit tools closed on April 30, 2025 |
| User rating | 4.5 out of 5 from 34 reviews on Capterra, most of them written before the HubSpot move |
What Clearbit is in 2026
Clearbit's own announcement of its free-tool shutdown, dated February 13, 2025, says HubSpot acquired Clearbit in December 2023 and that the Clearbit team has "fully integrated into HubSpot" (Clearbit). The same post introduces Breeze Intelligence, unveiled at INBOUND 2024, as the home for Clearbit's enrichment, buyer intent and form shortening inside HubSpot.
A year and a half later the name has moved again. HubSpot's product page, read on October 1, 2026, calls the feature "Data Enrichment" and does not use the Breeze Intelligence name at all (HubSpot). The page says data enrichment "is included in all paid plans with HubSpot's Smart CRM," with no additional cost and no integration to set up. Clearbit.com still exists, with a customer login for existing accounts and no plans for new buyers.
So a Clearbit review in 2026 is a review of a HubSpot feature. If you do not run HubSpot, there is no current Clearbit product for you to buy.
What the HubSpot version fills, and what it leaves empty
HubSpot's knowledge base lists every property enrichment can write, updated July 20, 2026 (HubSpot Knowledge Base).
Contacts, 14 properties: first name, last name, job title, employment role, sub-role and seniority, LinkedIn URL, city, state or region and its code, country and its code, plus two enrichment opt-out flags.
Companies, 27 properties: name, domain, description, keywords, industry and industry group, annual revenue and revenue range, number of employees and employee range, total money raised, whether the company is public, year founded, web technologies, phone number, full street address, website and social handles.
Read the contact list twice. It has no email address field and no phone field. HubSpot's enrichment starts from a contact you already hold. "Contacts must have a business email address," the same article says. "Personal addresses such as Gmail or Yahoo will not be enriched." It adds title, role, seniority, LinkedIn URL and location to that contact; finding an email or a dial is outside its scope.
How it behaves inside the CRM matters as much as what it fills:
- Automatic enrichment is off by default. An admin has to switch it on, for contacts and for companies separately.
- Automatic runs fill blanks only. HubSpot says automatic enrichment "doesn't overwrite values set by a user or another system." Manual enrichment can overwrite, and you choose which.
- Bulk runs from a records view take 100 records at a time. HubSpot also documents bulk enrichment from a segment, an import or a workflow.
- Form shortening and buyer intent sit in the same feature set. Buyer intent picks out companies visiting your site and showing intent signals, the job Clearbit's Weekly Visitor Report used to do, and it is the one part that spends credits.
What you pay for when you use Clearbit in HubSpot
Clearbit has no price list of its own, so what you pay for is the HubSpot subscription: contact and company enrichment comes with paid plans and "does not consume HubSpot Credits" (HubSpot Knowledge Base, updated July 10, 2026). Buyer intent is the one part that spends credits, when it adds companies to your account (HubSpot Knowledge Base, updated March 31, 2026).
The practical reading: if you already pay for a HubSpot Starter seat or higher, enrichment is a feature you have. If you do not, the cost of Clearbit is the cost of moving your CRM to HubSpot.
What users say about Clearbit
Capterra's Clearbit listing shows 4.5 out of 5 from 34 reviews when read on October 1, 2026, and the page is now titled under HubSpot's name (Capterra). The newest review is dated July 21, 2025. Most of the rest are from 2022 and 2023, so they describe standalone Clearbit before it moved into HubSpot.
What reviewers like is ease of use and company data:
"The simplicity with which Clearbit is used is one of my favorite features." (Sales administrator, financial services, 5 stars, March 19, 2023)
"Enrichment of companies is on point, but lacks at lead level" (Marketing and growth ops, financial services, 5 stars, October 6, 2023)
What they flag is freshness at the person level and, before the move, pricing:
"The data can sometimes be outdated and inaccurate." (Chief executive, 4 stars, July 21, 2025)
"Pricing is not very transparent and predictable" (CMO, computer software, 5 stars, October 21, 2022)
The pattern in those quotes matches the property list above. Company records are the strength. Person records are thinner, and in the HubSpot version they carry no contact details at all.
Where Clearbit is strong
- No integration to run. Enrichment is part of the CRM, so there is no sync to break and no second vendor contract.
- Company depth. Twenty-seven firmographic fields, including revenue range, funding raised and web technologies, is a solid base for routing and segmentation.
- No extra line item. On a paid HubSpot plan, enrichment does not draw down credits.
- Safe defaults. Automatic runs never overwrite a value a person or another system set.
- Scale on paper. HubSpot says its dataset indexes "over 100 million company domains and 380 million email addresses." That is HubSpot's own claim, and it does not publish a match rate.
Where Clearbit falls short
- No emails or phones for contacts. For outbound teams this is the deciding fact. A contact without a business email cannot be enriched at all, and an enriched contact still has no direct dial.
- HubSpot only. New buyers cannot get a standalone Clearbit plan, and Salesforce or Pipedrive shops have no current path to it.
- The free tools are gone. On April 30, 2025 Clearbit shut the free Clearbit Platform, the Weekly Visitor Report, the TAM Calculator, Clearbit Connect and the free Slack integration (Clearbit). The public Logo API stopped working after December 8, 2025 (Clearbit release notes).
- Thin public evidence on the new version. Few dated reviews describe the HubSpot-native product, and HubSpot publishes no accuracy or match-rate figure.
Is Clearbit free?
No. The free Clearbit tools closed on April 30, 2025. The HubSpot version needs a paid subscription at Starter or above, and HubSpot's free CRM tier is not on the list of eligible plans. Once you are on a paid plan, contact and company enrichment uses no credits, and only buyer intent draws on them.
Is Clearbit owned by HubSpot?
Yes. Clearbit's own blog says HubSpot acquired it in December 2023. Clearbit's capabilities now live inside HubSpot, first under the Breeze Intelligence name and, on HubSpot's current product page, simply as data enrichment.
Is Clearbit worth it in 2026?
For a team already paying for HubSpot Starter or higher, yes, because it costs nothing extra and fills firmographics without a second tool. For a team that needs contact data, meaning verified work emails and direct dials, it does not do that job. For a team on another CRM, it is not available.
How we reviewed Clearbit
- What this review is. A pricing, fit and user-evidence review. We did not run our own contacts through HubSpot's enrichment, and nothing on this page is a measured result of ours about Clearbit or HubSpot.
- What we read, and when. HubSpot's product page and knowledge base, Clearbit's blog and release notes, and the Capterra listing, all read on October 1, 2026. The update date of each HubSpot article is given where it is cited. Our B2B data pricing index, fetched September 1, 2026, records no standalone Clearbit plan, and clearbit.com/pricing still showed no plans or prices on October 1, 2026.
- What we could not read. G2, TrustRadius and Reddit blocked our reader when this was written, so the user section quotes Capterra only. Quotes are copied exactly, with the reviewer's role and date and without names.
- Our own figure. Cleanlist's 98% verified work email and 85% direct dial is our own benchmark on our own 500-lead sample. It is not a test of Clearbit or HubSpot.
Verdict: who should buy Clearbit, and who should not
Buy it if you run HubSpot on a Starter plan or higher, most of your leads arrive through forms, and what you want is company context: size, revenue, industry, funding and tech stack, written onto records automatically. Switch automatic enrichment on, and use form shortening to cut fields from your forms.
Skip it if you do not run HubSpot, if you need a standalone enrichment API (our data enrichment API comparison covers the options), or if your pipeline depends on reaching people who have not filled in a form. For those teams the missing piece is the contact itself, and HubSpot's enrichment does not supply it.
Where Cleanlist fits next to Clearbit
HubSpot's enrichment and Cleanlist do different jobs on the same record. HubSpot adds company and role context to a contact that already has a business email. Cleanlist finds and verifies the work email and the direct dial, through a waterfall across 25+ providers, and writes them back into HubSpot through a two-way sync. A HubSpot team can run both: HubSpot's enrichment for firmographics and intent, Cleanlist for the contact data. The CRM cleanup page covers the HubSpot connection and write-back, and the waterfall enrichment page explains how the provider sequence works.

Frequently asked questions
What happened to Clearbit?
HubSpot acquired Clearbit in December 2023. Its enrichment, buyer intent and form shortening moved into HubSpot, first branded Breeze Intelligence at INBOUND 2024 and now called data enrichment on HubSpot's product page. The free Clearbit tools closed on April 30, 2025, and the public Logo API stopped working after December 8, 2025.
Does Clearbit still have a free plan?
No. The free Clearbit Platform and the other free tools closed on April 30, 2025. The HubSpot version needs a paid HubSpot subscription at Starter or above.
Does HubSpot's enrichment find email addresses?
No. HubSpot's list of enrichable contact properties, updated July 20, 2026, has no email address field and no phone field. Enrichment needs a business email as its input and adds job title, role, seniority, LinkedIn URL and location to that contact.
Is Breeze Intelligence the same as Clearbit?
Breeze Intelligence was the name HubSpot gave Clearbit's capabilities when it unveiled them at INBOUND 2024. HubSpot's current product page calls the feature data enrichment and does not use the Breeze Intelligence name.
What should a team without HubSpot use for enrichment?
It depends on the gap. For firmographics inside another CRM, look at tools that sync to that CRM. For verified work emails and direct dials, you need a contact data tool. Our Clearbit alternatives page sorts the options by the Clearbit job each one replaces, and the data enrichment tools roundup compares them on price.
