The verdict
UpLead is a simple, well-rated contact database with published prices, verification at the point of download and an accuracy guarantee, and it is worth it for small teams that pull a few hundred contacts a month. Users rate it 4.6 out of 5 from 76 reviews on Capterra and 4.2 from 89 on Trustpilot. Essentials costs $99 a month for 170 credits ($74 a month billed annually), and Plus $199 for 400 ($149 billed annually). Each credit includes the email and the mobile number. Its limits are credit volume and niche coverage. Cleanlist publishes this review and sells contact data too; our own plans are public.
Prices, ratings and quotes on this page were checked on October 1, 2026. This is a pricing, fit and user-evidence review. Cleanlist has not run UpLead on a file of its own, so no figure here is our measurement of its data, and we have not checked its accuracy guarantee. UpLead's prices come from its own pricing page, read October 1, 2026; they match our public B2B data pricing index of September 1. Ratings and quotes come from Capterra and Trustpilot, read the same day. For the full plan detail, see our UpLead pricing guide.

What is UpLead?
UpLead is a B2B contact database. Its homepage headline is "Real-time verified B2B emails, mobile numbers and intent data", and it describes the data as "200M+ leads, AI-verified as you search and ranked by freshness." You search by company and contact filters, verify emails before you download, and export to a CSV or a CRM. The feature list on its homepage includes real-time email verification, mobile direct dials, technographics, intent data, a Chrome extension, an API, bulk lookup and integrations.
UpLead's selling point is accuracy. The homepage claims "95% data accuracy" and says "we back it with a 95%+ accuracy guarantee." Those are UpLead's claims, and Cleanlist has not checked them. Before you rely on the guarantee, ask UpLead how it is measured and what you get back when a record fails it.

One credit unlocks one contact, and UpLead bundles the email and the mobile number into that credit. Extra credits on Essentials are $0.60 each, per the pricing page. That makes the cost per 1,000 contacts $435.29 on Essentials with annual billing and $582.35 on monthly billing, and $372.50 on Plus with annual billing.
Those per-contact figures are high next to tools that price email reveals separately, and they include the mobile number. So UpLead is worth it when you need a few hundred complete, verified records a month and value the phone number in each one. It gets expensive at volume: 170 credits is about eight contacts a working day.
Is UpLead free?
UpLead offers a 7-day free trial with 5 credits. The homepage invites you to "grab 5 free leads." That is enough to see the verification step and check a few records in your market. The pricing page lists no free plan beyond the trial.
Is UpLead legit?
Yes. UpLead is an established vendor that says it has more than 4,000 customers, and it scores well on both review sites we read: 4.6 on Capterra and 4.2 on Trustpilot. The complaints are mostly about data age and coverage. One UK reviewer on Trustpilot wrote in June 2026 that they emailed "3 or 4 times" to cancel a trial, got no response and "was then charged close to £700", so cancel in writing before the trial ends and keep the confirmation.
What UpLead users say
On October 1, 2026, UpLead had 4.6 out of 5 from 76 reviews on Capterra, with 4.7 for both ease of use and customer service. On Trustpilot it had a TrustScore of 4.2 from 89 reviews, with 66% five-star and 21% one-star. Several of the Capterra reviews we quote are a few years old, so we have noted the date on each one.
What users like:
"The quality of the leads is pretty accurate, and it is about as high as I have found to be the case with much more expensive systems."
Lead Generation Specialist, marketing and advertising, July 2021 (Capterra)
"Extremely accurate email addresses with zero bounces, very easy to use, and super powerful search features that allow me to pinpoint exact criteria and people that I need for my campaigns."
Owner, management consulting, November 2020 (Capterra)
"Great tool at a great price! The data is robust and the price is a fraction of Zoominfo. Definitely recommend for those that are doing outreach."
Reviewer in the United States, September 2026 (Trustpilot)
What users dislike:
"Beyond this small number, niche leads with mobile don't really exist in Uplead."
Founder, market research, March 2022 (Capterra)
"Unfortunately most of the data was so old I had to go through each listing just to see if the company was still in business."
Owner, marketing and advertising, November 2020 (Capterra)
A UK reviewer on Trustpilot wrote in December 2025: "The lists I've created are really low quality." The same reviewer said many of the companies no longer existed and many contacts did not match the filters they had set.
Where UpLead is strong
Published prices. You can price UpLead before you talk to anyone, and monthly billing is available on the self-serve plans.
Verification before download. UpLead verifies emails in real time as you search, and reviewers credit it for low bounce rates.
Complete records. One credit includes the email and the mobile number, so there is no second charge for the phone.
Service. 4.7 for customer service on Capterra and a 4.2 TrustScore suggest support is responsive.
Where UpLead is weak
Volume. 170 credits a month on Essentials is small, and extra credits are $0.60 each.
Niche coverage. Reviewers selling into narrow markets report few contacts with mobile numbers.
Data age. Some reviewers report records for companies that no longer exist. Ask what "ranked by freshness" means in practice for your market.
Older reviews. Several of the Capterra reviews we read date from 2020 to 2022, so recent evidence on Capterra is thinner than the score suggests.
Who should pick UpLead, and who should not
Pick UpLead if:
- You need a few hundred verified contacts a month with mobile numbers included.
- You want a published price and the option to pay monthly.
- A trial search on your own market comes back with good coverage.
Look elsewhere if:
- You need thousands of contacts a month, where the per-contact price adds up.
- You sell into a niche where a trial search comes back thin.
- You already have the list and only need emails and phones on it.
The UpLead alternatives page sorts other tools by use case, our breakdown of what B2B contact data costs puts UpLead's per-contact price next to the rest of the market, and our guide to B2B data providers covers the larger databases.
The verdict on UpLead
UpLead is a good choice for small teams that want complete, verified contacts at a published price and do not need volume. Its ratings are strong on both review sites, and its verification step and accuracy guarantee are real selling points, though we have not checked the guarantee ourselves. Run the 7-day trial on your own market first, because coverage in a niche is where reviewers report the most disappointment.
Where Cleanlist fits

We have not run UpLead and Cleanlist on the same file, so this section makes no claim about which finds more.
