TL;DR
BetterContact costs $15 a month for 200 credits on Starter and $49 a month for 1,000 credits on Pro, with Pro running up to $1,999 a month for 50,000 credits and Enterprise from $799 a month above 20,000. A valid email costs 1 credit and a mobile number 10, charged only when valid data is found. That puts a valid email at $75 per 1,000 on Starter and about $40 per 1,000 from 5,000 credits up, and a found mobile at 40 to 75 cents. Unused credits roll over, and annual billing is two months free. We make Cleanlist, a waterfall enrichment tool like BetterContact, so read this as a competitor's guide. Our own plans are on the Cleanlist pricing page.
Prices checked October 1, 2026. Every BetterContact figure below was read off bettercontact.rocks/pricing on October 1, 2026 and matches our price ledger reading of September 22. Our September 2026 pricing index read the same $15 Starter plan on September 1.
BetterContact is a waterfall enrichment tool: it sends each lookup to a sequence of data vendors (its page says 20+) and returns the first valid email or mobile number it finds. Cleanlist works the same way, which makes this the most direct comparison we publish. Our roundup of waterfall enrichment tools covers the rest of the category. We have tried to price BetterContact exactly as its page does, and to say plainly where it is cheaper than we are.
How much does BetterContact cost in 2026?
BetterContact has three plans. Starter is $15 a month for 200 credits. Pro starts at $49 a month for 1,000 credits and has a selector that runs to 50,000 credits for $1,999. Enterprise starts at $799 a month for volumes above 20,000 credits and is quoted by sales. New accounts get 50 free credits at signup.
| Plan | Monthly price | Credits a month | Emails, if every credit buys one | Mobiles, if every credit buys one |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free signup | $0 | 50 once | 50 | 5 |
| Starter | $15 | 200 | 200 | 20 |
| Pro | $49 | 1,000 | 1,000 | 100 |
| Pro | $149 | 3,000 | 3,000 | 300 |
| Pro | $199 | 5,000 | 5,000 | 500 |
| Pro | $399 | 10,000 | 10,000 | 1,000 |
| Pro | $799 | 20,000 | 20,000 | 2,000 |
| Pro | $1,199 | 30,000 | 30,000 | 3,000 |
| Pro | $1,999 | 50,000 | 50,000 | 5,000 |
| Enterprise | From $799 | Custom, above 20,000 | Custom | Custom |
The page describes Starter as "for reps starting on the phone," Pro as "for teams that live on the phone," and Enterprise as "for high-volume calling programmes." It is priced and pitched for phone-led outbound.
What does a BetterContact credit buy?
A BetterContact credit buys one valid email, and ten credits buy one mobile phone number. In the page's words: "1 mobile phone = 10 credits. 1 email = 1 credit. Spend credits on either." Credits are "only charged when valid data is actually found," and the page adds "no charge for catch-alls whatsoever." Email verification is included in the credit.
Pro adds features Starter does not have, among them mobile phone verification, catch-all email verification, Clay and Zapier integrations, and a phone scoring feature BetterContact calls Connect Intelligence, which "scores every mobile number for likelihood to connect" and charges only "for numbers scored likely to connect." Scoring the low ones "is always free." Enterprise adds volume discounts, a dedicated account manager and the option to use your own data-provider API keys.
What does a valid email or mobile cost on BetterContact?
A valid email costs $75 per 1,000 on Starter and falls to about $40 per 1,000 from the 5,000-credit tier up. A mobile costs ten times that. Our September pricing index records the Starter figure.
| Plan | Arithmetic | Per 1,000 valid emails | Per found mobile |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter, 200 credits | $15 ÷ 200 × 1,000 | $75.00 | $0.75 |
| Pro, 1,000 credits | $49 ÷ 1,000 × 1,000 | $49.00 | $0.49 |
| Pro, 3,000 credits | $149 ÷ 3,000 × 1,000 | $49.67 | $0.50 |
| Pro, 5,000 credits | $199 ÷ 5,000 × 1,000 | $39.80 | $0.40 |
| Pro, 10,000 credits | $399 ÷ 10,000 × 1,000 | $39.90 | $0.40 |
| Pro, 50,000 credits | $1,999 ÷ 50,000 × 1,000 | $39.98 | $0.40 |
Two things stand out. First, the price per credit stops falling at 5,000 credits: every Pro tier from 5,000 to 50,000 costs almost exactly 4 cents a credit. Past that point, more volume buys more credits at the same unit price. Second, the 3,000-credit tier costs slightly more per credit than the 1,000-credit tier, so if you need about 3,000 credits, the 5,000-credit tier at $199 is the better buy.
Is BetterContact cheaper on annual billing?
Yes. Annual billing is "2 months free: you pay for 10 months and keep all 12," which is about 17% off. On the $49 tier that is $490 a year, or about $40.83 a month. On the $199 tier it is $1,990 a year, which brings a valid email to about $33 per 1,000. Annual plans also extend credit rollover to 12 months.
Do BetterContact credits roll over?
Yes, with a cap. BetterContact's FAQ says it rolls "unused credits over to the next month, capped at twice your subscribed amount. So on a 5,000-credit plan, you can hold a maximum of 10,000 credits." The plan cards word the same rule as a rollover "capped at your subscribed credit amount," with the same 10,000 example. Anything above that cap does not carry forward. On annual billing the rollover window stretches to 12 months.
That makes BetterContact forgiving for teams whose volume swings month to month. A slow month is banked, up to one extra month's worth.
What does BetterContact not publish?
The pricing page is complete on credits and tiers. It leaves three things out.
- Seats. The page does not say how many users a plan includes or whether a teammate costs extra.
- Cancellation and refunds. The page states no cancellation or refund terms, and its help-center article on cancelling did not load when we checked on September 22 and October 1, 2026.
- What happens to rolled-over credits when you cancel. The rollover rule is written for an active plan.
Ask all three in writing before you pay for a year up front.
How BetterContact credits map to real work
- An SDR calling 100 new prospects a week. About 400 mobiles a month, or 4,000 credits if every number is found. That is the 5,000-credit tier at $199, with room for emails.
- A founder emailing 500 prospects a month. 500 credits, so the 1,000-credit tier at $49, with the other half rolling over.
- An agency enriching 3,000 contacts a month with both fields. Up to 33,000 credits if every row returns an email and a mobile. In practice fewer rows find both, and a miss costs nothing, so start on the 10,000 or 20,000 tier and watch the real draw for a month.
Is BetterContact worth it?
BetterContact is worth it for phone-led teams that want many vendors behind one bill, and from 5,000 credits up it charges about 4 cents a credit. The rollover and the charge-on-valid rule both protect you from paying for nothing.
It is worth less if you need to know what a team costs before you buy, since the page publishes no seat terms, or if you need a two-way sync with a CRM other than HubSpot.
Verdict: who should buy BetterContact, and who should not
Buy it if your outbound is phone-first, your volume is above 5,000 credits a month, and one person or a small team runs the enrichment. The 5,000-credit tier is where its pricing is strongest.
Skip it if you are on Starter volumes and want seats inside the plan price, or if you need seat and cancellation terms in writing before a purchase and cannot get them.
BetterContact pricing compared with Cleanlist
Cleanlist and BetterContact meter the same way: a credit per verified email, ten per phone, and nothing charged when nothing is found. Cleanlist runs each lookup across 25+ providers. Starter is $79 a month for 1,500 credits with 2 seats included, Pro is $229 for 5,000 credits with 5 seats, and Scale is $599 for 15,000 credits with 10 seats. An extra seat is $20 a month, annual billing takes 25% off, and people and company search cost 0 credits.
| BetterContact | Cleanlist | |
|---|---|---|
| Entry plan | $15 a month, 200 credits | Starter $79 a month, 1,500 credits |
| Around 5,000 credits | $199 a month | Pro $229 a month |
| Per 1,000 valid emails at 5,000 credits | $39.80 | $45.80 |
| 1 credit, charged only when valid | 1 credit per verified work email, a miss costs nothing | |
| Phone | 10 credits per mobile | 10 credits per direct dial, 11 for both on one row |
| Providers in the waterfall | 20+ | 25+ |
| Seats | Not stated on the pricing page | 2, 5 and 10 included; $20 a month per extra seat |
| Unused credits | Roll over, up to twice the monthly amount | Set out on the Cleanlist pricing page |
| Annual billing | 2 months free (about 17% off) | 25% off |
| Integrations | HubSpot, Google Sheets and Make on every plan; Clay and Zapier on Pro | Two-way sync with HubSpot, Salesforce and Pipedrive on Pro and Scale; CSV export on every plan |
On list price, BetterContact is cheaper at the same credit volume: $199 against $229 for 5,000 credits a month, and much cheaper at the entry. Cleanlist's case is what comes with the credits: seats bundled into every plan, free people and company search to build the list, a two-way CRM sync on Pro and Scale, and a pull of 25+ providers per lookup. Whether that is worth $30 a month at 5,000 credits depends on how many people use the account and where the data needs to land. The fair test is to run the same 100 rows through both on their free credits and count what comes back.
